The SMART Table is the first multi-touch, multi-user interactive learning centre for primary pupils. Designed to encourage collaboration, discussion and consensus building, the table gives early primary pupils a gathering place to explore digital lessons, play educational games and work together on interactive learning activities. Groups of pupils can simultaneously touch objects on the surface and enjoy a playful kind of learning. The possibilities for fun and teamwork are limitless on the table – from sliding an elephant across the surface, to following a trail of clues or mapping the human body.

The Fizzbook Spin is the first mini-tablet PC

The Fizzbook Spin is the first mini-tablet PC for children designed with a measured and thoughtful approach to understanding the real needs of children and young adults. The Spin wasn’t born in a lab, it was conceived through real research carried out with real teachers and young people in classrooms all over the world.
The Spin’s researchers travelled to schools and spent time living with and observing the interactions between students, their peers and siblings, teachers and parents. This research has contributed to the development of an exciting tablet PC for children.
The way young people use technology means they want to share what they are doing, both with the people around them and online. They don’t want to sit at desks all the time, and the inclusion of a camera means the Fizzbook Spin needs to be used in all sorts of locations.
With this in mind it was designed to pass a 50cm drop test, and has a water resistant keyboard, 4.5 hour battery life, surfaces resistant to reasonable damage and improved dust resistance. A built in carry handle improves handling, transport and sharing your screen with others.
The aim of the Fizzbook is to have an exceptionally usable netbook straight out of the box. The on-board software suite has been designed so you have the productivity tools of Microsoft Works, the creative tools of Art Rage, a web camera, and education tools of the SMART Classroom Suite without any additional software installation. These tools are underpinned with back-up software and a security suite option.

Short summary?
It’s a very clever mobile 3600 camera that’s placed in a classroom by a teacher. The teacher schedules an observation to take place of their lesson which is viewed live or later by an observer with web-based software.

You can then:

Model, remotely observe and reflect on teaching in any room in your school
Observe without affecting the lesson dynamic
Record lessons
Create time-linked notes and collect observation data, live or over a recording
Provide immediate feedback for teachers in the context of their own classroom
Share recordings with other users via the secure web portal
