How to recycle your projector lamp


Recycling is becoming increasingly important, not only for the environment but for animals and people. The Projector Lamp found in projectors should be recycled, not thrown away. Besides being breakable, they contain mercury which is harmful to the environment, causing a safety risk. There are several ways to recycle your Projector Lamps, whether you are a business with lots of bulbs or a homeowner with only one projector bulb. Below are four simple steps to recycling your projector lamps

  • · Step 1

Remove each lamp as instructed in the projector’s user manual. Always wait for the bulb to cool down before removing.

  • Step 2

Once the old Projector Lamp has been removed place inside the new replacement lamp box check the new lamp works okay and securely fit it inside the box. Bubble wrap if possible.

  • Step 3

If your employer recycles projector Lamps (certain businesses recycle their bulbs and will gladly take bulbs from employees to recycle as well).  Then please just hand over your old projector lamp to them however if they don’t please continue to step 4.

  • Step 4

Go online to http://www.lamphouse.co.uk/enviromental to find the address you need to post your old projector lamp back to.
